Who is eligible for SCRA benefits?
SCRA benefits and protections are available to:
- Servicemembers: The term “servicemember” means a member of the uniformed services, as that term is defined in section 101(a)(5) of Title 10 United States Code. The “uniformed services” means:
- the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Space Force, the National Guard, and the Reserve;
- the commissioned corps of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration; and
- the commissioned corps of the Public Health Service.
- U.S. citizens serving with allied military forces for the prosecution of a war or military action.
- Active servicemember’s dependents, such as spouse, children, or any other person for whom the servicemember has provided more than half of their financial support for the past 180 days. The dependent spouse must have been presented with a court order indicating benefits should be extended.
